REGRET OVER TERRORIST ACTS IN CHECHNYA, FOREIGN MINISTRY BELGRADE, July 5 -
The Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the deepest regret the reports
of the newest synchronized terrorist acts of Chechen separatists in which
over 60 innocent people were killed. These crimes testify that the
terrorists, with the support and assistance from abroad, do not stop at
even the most monstrous methods in order to cause massive human
causalities, draw the attention of the public and endanger the sovereignty
and territorial integrity of the Russian Federation. The Yugoslav
Government and public therefore condemn in the strongest terms these
senseless criminal acts, express condolences to the families of those
killed and give support to the efforts of the Russian Federation in the
uprooting of terrorism and separatism. The FR of Yugoslavia calls all
countries to engage in the suppression of separatism and terrorism, which -
in a wide circle from Indonesia and Sri Lanka, trough Cashmere, Chechnya,
Kosovo and Metohija, Algeria and many other countries endangered by
separatism and terrorism - are used as a mechanism for the destabilization
of sovereign countries.
