Ok, here is a question that you guys should nail. I suspect that the sytem admins out there fight this sort of thing almost daily.
I am trying to get an HP 1020 going on a USB port. The system is a Ubuntu Dapper Drake i.e. 6.06 LTS. I have had this working on my laptop fine but seem to be having a problem on this desktop. I follow the how to at http://doc.gwos.org/index.php/HPLJ1020 All goes well until I try to print. I can hear the double whirring when I power up the printer, which indicates the foomatic driver is downloading. But it won't print :( I think the problem is tied up with /dev/usblp0 not being pointed at the right usb port. The printer is connected to USB Bus=03 Lev=01 Prnt=02 Cnt=01 Dev#=10 the /dev/usblp0 = 180, 0 Suggestions please?
