Since it is stated as Ideal Candidate as opposed to "job requirements"
they are free to pretty much state what they want. What they feel
would fit in with the existing environment. The smoking thing could be
explained that whether you smoke on your break or etc. you still carry
the smell. Someone in charge may not care for that or possibly someone
in the office has asthma or etc. and is sensitive to the smell.
However if this is a data center its probably kept pretty clean and
they don't want someone taking a break every hour to get their
nicotine fix. The license thing is a bit more tricky,as per state law
you must obtain a CA license within 10 of moving here (providing your
going to be operating a vehicle). So if you have been here longer then
10 days and not obtained a CA license you are in fact not "legal to
drive". Unless you have a Military/International license.
