Any ideas why I would be getting this strange error? I'm rather bummed that even RedHat hasn't been able to figure this out in a month. If I don't get this sorted in the next few days I am just going to set up the machines without RAID. The plan is to run the two of them in HA mode anyway. Was just hoping to have the extra protection.

Could this be power supply problem? A RAID rebuild is likely to be the maximum power usage that system is ever likely to see. A lot of EPIA boards come with smaller power supplies for quiet purposes. You could be overrunning it.

I'd bump the power supply and see if it goes away.

Also, I'd run a couple of kernel compiles on the system and see if you get any screwy errors. If there is a chipset issue, the kernel compiles ought to smoke it out.
