Maybe. But I would expect a different error message if that were the case. Something much lower level. I can switch to another console and manually make the md device, logical volume, and file system and let the whole RAID rebuild and it doesn't have a problem.

I'd bump the power supply and see if it goes away.

It's a VIA board in a small case. That would be a lot of hassle for something which may or may not work.

Also, I'd run a couple of kernel compiles on the system and see if you get any screwy errors. If there is a chipset issue, the kernel compiles ought to smoke it out.

That's not a bad idea. I may be able to convert it to a RAID system after the install and see if that rebuild completes. Although I suspect it's just some bug or something in anaconda.
