I bought a DVD recorder with built-in tuner. I have recorded programs
that I want to keep a copy of. I have gleaned information from previous
postings on the list that I have kept that showed me how to use mplayer
to play all the fragments I want from the DVD to a VOB file on my computer.
What I don't know how to do is set chapter markers. I would like to set
them where the commercial breaks were. That seems to me like a natural
set of break points.
I also don't know how to save that VOB back to a DVD in such a way that
would be compatible with movie players.
Additionally, I would like to know how to put multiple titles onto a
single DVD and have a menu screen with selections similar to what you
find on DVD movies sold commercially, especially with chapter selection.
I have done a few searches on the web, but mostly what I find are not
useful to me. I've tried obtaining a couple of the software programs
supposedly able to do such things, but have not been able to install
them so far.
Can anyone point me to anything that they have found useful for such
things? (Free and open source is preferable.)
