PS. I am still waiting for anyone to address the point I made earlier. Fires are easily extinguished if they are detected early before they grow to be huge conflagrations.
Detection is easy. Smoke is obvious. Someone sees smoke and calls the fire department. The problem is the reaction time. It takes a long time to get guys to their trucks and trucks to the scene. Easily an hour. And we have seen that it takes only a few minutes for a fire to go beyond the ability of just a few men to put out. Especially during dry windy conditions.
There is existing technology for detecting fires within minutes of their initiation. SoCal is not using it. Why?
I assume you are not referring to the Mark I eyeball here. How does this technology work and who is using it?
I wish you guys would say, "Hey Bob, you are an idiot."
Hey Bob, you are an idiot! Well, you asked for it so... ;)
Increasingly I wonder why I spend any time here.
Because there are a lot of bright people here. The problem is that many of them are as cantankerous as you.
