IMO, if the Yang-gang can't fight of this takeover and remain mostly

Yahoo, then I hope they, the Yang-gang, fight it so intensely that
what Microsoft gets is a shell of what Yahoo is today. Because if
Microsoft takes over a healthy Yahoo, they will find ways to move
Yahoo users, advertisers, and developers in the Windows-only

Why do you assume that Yahoo is so much more noble than Microsoft?

Yahoo's current problem is that *they aren't being successful extracting money from/for users*.

If Yahoo manages to fight this off, they're going to have to do exactly that--extract more money from users.

Yes, Microsoft is a known evil, and Yahoo is an unknown evil.

And, BTW, Yahoo are the ones who screwed up enough that I *left* them. They rolled everybody from their "groups startups" buyouts into Yahoo groups when it sucked. 8 different groups I was part of (3 different groups startups) all shut down and moved to mailing lists rather than fight with Yahoo groups. Yahoo mail and groups *still* can't handle international characters. The even *dumber* part of this is that Yahoo Japan (I have an account there) *does* handle international characters just fine in the mail and groups. If they just took their Yahoo Japan software and rolled it out in the US, things would *work*.
