I don't pay for mine (with one exception), and I don't violate any licenses.
FWIW, I use AVG, Zone Alarm (though there's no version for 64-bit damn
it!), Spybot S&D, Spywareblaster (I pay for that one), and Ad-Aware.
Speaking of viruses, a client of mine was updating an XP machine that
belongs to one of his developers the other day. When I left, it was
about 50% complete with a scan. It had logged over 1,500 infected files
and the owner never even had a clue. He was running Symantec on it. AVG
is so much better. Even better is running Linux (which this developer
could do, if he purchased the Linux version of Maya).
