I was thinking that "win" means getting to be taken seriously -- in this case as a photo editing tool. Once you're taken seriously, (some) people start to listen to reviews and testimonials and weigh tradeoffs -- which I'm envisioning as very positive feedback to open source projects and developers. > ..
