I suspect the biggest argument against Gimp for a

when companies are looking for a "pro with n years

Monopolies impose themselves in many ways.

Which is one "reason" (more like an excuse) companies insist on looking for H1B workers, and many jobs stay open for so damn long. "We can't find the experience here.", "We can't find a person with all the qualifications we need to handle our special widgets."

Apparently, all employees are dumb. No one can learn anything new at Their Company, Inc. and must have that knowledge coming in. Apparently, hiring smart people that can pickup a new - but related to their knowledge/expertise - concept is taboo.

Gimp works fine for me though.

Me too.
