Painted the upper and lower cowl plus air inlet parts with exterior latex
house paint primer from Lowe's, about $30 per gallon. Hardware store screws
in the nut plate holes keep paint out of the screw threads. This is the
same paint as previously used on the wings and fuselage. My water separator
was working overtime to supply dry air to my low pressure high volume paint
gun during the rain storms today. The primer was dry to the touch in about
5 minutes even with the high humidity. That is one of the features of water
base paints.
