You folks in the US have done a lot with your English system, no argueing.
But you would have done a hell of a lot more if you had used metrics all the
way.So I take my hats off to you (no kidding..) not only for all you have
accomplished  but also because you did it despite the system you use.I am a
brazilian who grew up with metrics, then I got my Master's degree in
engineering in the States and ended up working with both systems most of my
prefessional life (I am 60 and retired now but still have to deal with both
systems in my daily life).This passionate defense of the English system
reminds me of the saying: if something complicated works why the hell make
it simple?
