My experience with the West System has been the same as Orma's. I found that I was not getting a complete squirt when the pumps had been left for awhile. So I began a habit of having 2 epoxy cups handy, one to squirt just enough epoxy and hardener to prime the pumps fully, then dispense the amount I wanted for the job.
