There are such ready-made devices for cars. Rob Van der Merwe, from Port
Elisabeth, South Africa, used one on the KR2 he sold me. Since his compass
was unreliable at that time, he even used the shade to keep his heading:
suction cup exactly over the sun, and keep it there!

Hi all,
I've been flying with a friend in his Cessna 210 over the
weekend, and discovered he is using a great idea for a sunshade.
This guy also owns a Rutan Varieze so is very conscious of weight, an
issue for all of us KR2 builders.
His sunshade is simply a piece of A4 size paper, laminated with plastic
and a hole punched in the centre for a suction cap.
He can place it anywhere on the screen or windows as the sun moves about,
and it weighs next to nothing.
I've been thinking about it, and this would be a perfect place to have any
checklists etc, just make them on A4 and laminate them so they have a dual
purpose.
