There used to be a very informative webpage from Dr. Dean on this subject, 
later linked to the Area51 webpage where WAFs were being offered for sale.  
I seem to recall that the information indicated that it isn't as easy as 
just cutting the WAFs out, drilling the holes, and cleaning up the edges.  
Not much help, I know, but unless you're waterjet cutting (or other method 
that doesn't heat up the metal as you drill or cut), there is something else 
required to ensure that the fittings retain the strength needed in the area 
of the holes.  Anybody have that information?
