I have a stock KR2 and the stock tail feathers are more than adequate. The extra length will provide more stability, which is good. Check the archives for a resent thread on "stability" for around the 18,19 and 20th of April 2005 your question will answered.
I would not enlarge the tail feathers as they aren't broken, and larger surfaces produce more drag! regards Barry Kruyssen Cairns, Australia RAA 19-3873 k...@bigpond.com http://www.users.bigpond.com/kr2/kr2.htm ----- Original Message ----- From: wilder_jeff Wilder To: kr...@mylist.net Sent: Tuesday, June 07, 2005 8:02 AM Subject: KR> Rebuild suggestions I am reworking the turtle deck of a KR that I've purchased a month ago, I have it removed. One person has suggested that I make the vert-stab larger.... This is a stock KR2- that has been streched. Does anyone have any sound advice for making the tail section larger. If so, how much larger?.. different airfoil if I am going to take it back to bare wood?... any suggestions at all would be helpfull. Heck, any advice you can provide me at this point about anything, while I have the deck off would be awesome. In rebuilding the Deck.. what is the general heighth of the deck at the canopy? its 38 inches across, I was thinking of cutting a bow to allow for about 19 inches heigh, then pulling it down slightly for head room.. but I do not like or want the squared off look.. any suggestions as well? -jeff _______________________________________ Search the KRnet Archives at http://www.maddyhome.com/krsrch/index.jsp to UNsubscribe from KRnet, send a message to krnet-le...@mylist.net please see other KRnet info at http://www.krnet.org/info.html
