Scott Alt Static air is for your pitot static system. If your static ports get blocked. Some use heated air from the cowling as carb heat and or intake manifold heat. I agree with Colin that SOMETHING needs to be there for heat to the intake. Steven Phillabaum KR2S; 5048; corvair; Auburn, Alabama
