Bought the Marine unit for 80 bucks and re-programmed the sucker for air usage
+++++++++++++++++ My first attempt at getting a GPS was also a buck saving mission - I opted for an old non-aviation Garmin (no map). It would not work in the plane - everything went to zero. I tried it out in the car and it worked a treat, so back to the plane, no joy so I emailed Garmin help desk. It turned out that the terrestrial units had a max speed limit (something like 50 mph). Question is if your Airmap is the same and /or if a re-program to aviation software will remedy this. Steve J South Africa
