KR Group, I don't know what the exact requirements for diabetes are but I believe if you're not on insulin and "under good control" you can still get a 3rd class medical. I do know that a cut-off of 4.0 for a HbA1c is not correct. I'm not diabetic and my A1c is probably higher than 4...
