This is very interesting information for us VW guys. If you can trust this
information to be acturate, this is a major technology breakthrough.
Although it seems that the technology is not that new, it may be just now be
being applied to the aircraft world.

I have always wondered about the roughness of the castings of the VW jugs
and thought the billet stuff would be better but this information far
exceeds what I would have expected. It looks like these jugs answer all of
the needs, more power, better heat disapation longer TBO and so on.

Does anyone out there have experience and real world data on this?

And then it makes me wonder. Could a guy build a better VW using a scat
block, the right cam grind and crank combined with these jugs and get a
better, stonger VW in tyoe 1 or type 2 form?

That is a great price on the Nikasil cylinders, but be aware that you need
to also change out your head studs and the new ones for the Nikasil are
expensive.

I also understand that you are better off with the 94mm cylinders as the
92mm are much too thin at the top, for the amount of heat that they have to
deal with.
