It appears to me that the design as it stands, with its "bannna boat" 
charactreristic,  has more stress on all the framing and therefore is a 
more rigid structure overall. I see no good reason to change this. Any 
different evaluations?

I have a therory, It makes a lot of change to make the sides straight. The 
firewall would be different, The cowl would then be different, the bottom 
would all add weight and take more material. The actual wing area would be 
reduced while I beleive that the drag on the squared up fusealage would 
increase. Just a couple reasons of the top of my head, but you knew that so 
for anyone that has not thought it through the banna boat is not that big of 
a deal.
