Hi all,

I am preparing for a KR2S build. I set up a woodworking shop and
have the plans in hand.

I have a few basic newbie questions for the community? If you can
answer ANY of them, I would appreciate it.

1. Is it possible to register a KR2S in the LSA category? (I likely can't
get a private pilot licence based on my medical condition.) Based on my
understanding from my limited search in the KR archives, the answer is
"possible yes" with the combination of building it light, using a small
engine and some wing extension, but I just wanted to confirm it, if
possible.

2. Is there an active builder in Oregon or Washington (I am in Portland,
OR) whom I can visit for a few hours and ask questions (so I don't clog up
this email list with newbie questions)?

3. Since I am in the Northwest where sitka spruce likely originates, can I
get wood from local lumber yards instead of Aircraft Spruce? I understand
that wood for aircraft requires careful selection, but I still wonder,
where do Northwestern builders get their wood? (Can I compromise by getting
the spar material from Aircraft Spruce and the rest locally?)

Thanks your answer in advance...Mihaly
