Just the libraries - no... But we could create an operating environment based on the ast version of several "standard" unix utilities. This would be a nice minimal setup for use within a zone. I think the ast set of utilites are probably one of the few cross-platform utilities available, except for gnu. I also believe they're more self-consistent than the gnu binutils, being tightly integrated with the ast libraries. I see that David has just summarised the additional advantage of having the option to integrate many of these utilities with ksh93. We would never get away with replacing *all* basic bin-utils in Solaris, which is why I was thinking about branded zones. But this is relatively off-topic for this forum I guess. Cheers, Henk
