Hi Bob,

Another option (to trying to copy the contents) is just to see how the
company is suited for just replacing it.
And how critical is their voicemail data... in other words is it a
company that relies heavily on their messages, or would it be just an
inconvenience if they lost it all one day.

I replaced a TVS200 for one insurance company with a new TVA, but I
put the old TVS on a single port as a second voicemail system. They
could still call it's extension to dig through old messages if they
thought there was something they needed. They left it that way for a
few years (basically they forgot about it), but it helped them make
the transition.

It probably would be a bit less expensive to just get a replacement
drive and clone the data to it... but it's also more challenging work
for you and they end up with the same old system, so when they start
asking for better features they would still have to look at upgrading.

One other thing to try, if it is the same mailbox having trouble, it
could be bad sectors on the drive. You can delete the box to free up
the sectors. Then create a new dummy one (presumably it might use the
same sectors), then create a new box to replace the deleted one (now
presumably on a new sectors).
Panasonic recommended this to me a few times (many years ago). I don't
know if the sectors really do work that way, but I did it anyway and
the users seemed happier.

The thing about the woman's voice was I heard that they found that a
female voice can emulate the digit "1", which stops the recording. I
think there were some tweaks to help that.
