Thanks for your ideas -- it was particularly helpful to consider that
the "Clin a" might be a model rather than the brand. I was excited to
consider that having the stearing wheel on the left side might help peg
the manufacturer till I learned there are companies who operate near
ports of entry to change it if need be.
My latest idea is to see if brother (once he returns from vacation) can
approach a casual police acquaintenance and get him to look up the
license plate and reveal the type of car.
After that, out of luck.
