I find it easier to work with the continental bobbins. I learned them from
the start and have tried midlands (unspangled) when trying honiton and they
are so thin to pick up. I have two sizes of continentals but they are so
easy to work with compared with midlands. And the bulb help you to "pull"
them as you say.
