Christine and David Springett used to own the whole business, which included
making and selling bobbins, kits of small projects like cards and Christmas
decorations, Christine's patterns and books, teaching videos, as well as
running the British College of Lace (think I've got the title right). After
many years, it got too much for them, and a couple of years ago, the main part
of the business - bobbins in the main - was sold off to Linda Fountain.

I believe Springett's still have an interest in some of the books they've
produced, and I'm sure someone will be able to tell you in great detail just
how far their involvement goes.

So the reason that Springetts are listed on the leaflets for Havant and the NEC
is that they *are* still in business, even if it is a more limited way.

Being so far away, I can't help you with the other question! Hopefully someone
might enlighten us both!!

Springetts and Fountains are? I was told that
Fountains used to be called Springetts, and I notice they still sell kits
labelled Springetts. Yet the leaflets for Havant and the NEC list "C & D
Springett", not Fountains. I assume this is Christine and David Springett who
have written several lace books. Are they the same as Fountains?

And if it isn't too indiscreet, can I ask why SMP and Tim Parker are at
daggers drawn? (I'm not normally a gossipy person, honestly - I never read OK
or Hello - but I'm intrigued by this one!)
