Jugendstil = Art Nouveau; the decorative style that was the hight of fashion at the turn of the 19th/20th century. Characterised by stylised floral designs with lots of swirly stems and tendrills and coming between the heavy over-ornate late Victorian style and the more geometric Art Deco of the 1920s & 1930s.
