I had half remembered this but the only ones I have seen so far have been the womens hankies I have here which are far too colourful for the lace I want to make. I think I need to go to one of the nice shops and see if I can purchase some good quality mens hankies in white. Co far only those with colour have come my way. Time to ask my Mum where she used to get Dads from, I think. Obviously this would make a much neater and simpler task for me if I could get some of these. Thanks for reminding me, my brain fog does a good job of keeping those ideas at bay when I need them. Thank you all. Sue T
Just a reminder as I believe it has been mentioned here before. You can often find good quality handkerchief material in 'men's' handkerchiefs. They are usually larger than women's so after finishing your 'lace edging' in a square, cut down the center of the 'man's handkerchief' to the size needed. No need to purchase the full width of a piece of yardage. Lorri I have phoned and found my local fabric shops sells some cotton lawn, I expect I will be trying to make my own hanky. Unless I come across something else that will work for my purpose. Thank you all for the great help and insight. I know you have been here before and thank you for sharing your thoughts with me and others.
