There is no reason not to think that the embroidery on the veil was done by
hand with a tambour hook or needle.  Tambour hook would probably be faster.
This type of lace was itself an attempt to make lace faster than either needle
lace or bobbin lace.  It only came into existence when large widths of clear
machine made net became reliably available -- after about 1820.  The design of
this piece is surprisingly good and closely mirrors bobbin lace designs of
that time period.

$7500 seems way too much.  Bobbin lace yes, tambour ???  But the design is
better than most of that type (that I have seen) and it appears to be in good
condition.
