My thought to make a misers purse in bobbin lace was possibly as another wedding item a bit different to a horseshoe, garter or hankie.

If a dress has a belt, the purse is tucked under it so that the belt passed over the thin part where the opening is with the two "bag" parts hanging from under and over the belt. Thought it could look rather attractive in white silk, possibly with a bit of pale blue, with small pearls or crystal beads instead of the more usual seed or cut steel beads used for this type of purse.
