I will be there, too, for an Arachne meeting, if one can be arranged!! They
are such fun, - and so nice to meet others Arachneans face to face. I even
have a gift ready for a raffle, - if we have a meeting and include a
raffle!!

I, too, have found the ethafoam pillows a wonderful $5 investment when I
come to conventions, as it is impossible to fly long-distance with a pillow
in the suitcase. I have given them away afterwards, as even bringing one
back home was in the "too hard" basket!!

I have had to declare the Bobbins at customs when we get back here. Last
time I said I had lacemakers bobbins the customs guy thought for a moment
then asked if they were "Those stick things" When I said yes, he just waived
me though saying they were OK!! Obviously a few lacemakers have passed
though his area, and he has been well educated"!!!

Janice - I have done some Knotted lace in the plane, - with pre-cut thread
loosely plaited so I just pull out a length to use, - and leave all the ends
to cut off when I get back to "terra firma". I try to hide the needle under
a metal zipp somewhere, in case the scanners decide a needle is a dangerous
weapon, and confiscate it. I usually have another needle hidden away
somewhere else in my carry-on bag, just in case....!!! I will have that
with me, as well as some tatting, as Melbourne to LA non-stop is a Very long
flight - though part of it is at night!. The sitting around at airport
waiting for flights is perhaps, the worst part! DH gets restless, so wants
to drag me off for walks - round and round the same bit of the airport...!!!
