"Tell her and others to join the Facebook group Bobbin Lace Makers. There are a lot of new learners taking part, most seem to be teaching themselves from books and YouTube videos. They are giving each other advice and are receiving help from experienced lacers." I have to say this did not occur to me. Other thoughts?
