A Suhosin 0.9.29 module built against PHP 5.2.11 but now runnig under PHP 5.2.12 caused the same symptoms. Fortunatly the apache logs made it clear what the problem was. ...... [folded for readability] ld.so.1: httpd: fatal: relocation error: file /opt/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20060613/suhosin.so: symbol php_mb_encoding_translation: referenced symbol not found ......
