I also have this same problem on a Dell Latitude D610. Unfortunately the close and reopen action isn't that reliable so this isn't actually a solution. Using acpi 0x8 at boot solves the issue, but leaves me without a battery meter, so I don't like this solution. I have found a CR that seems to be related http://bugs.opensolaris.org/view_bug.do?bug_id=6408634 Has anybody else bumped into this or care to give another workaround?
