i just got a new ferrari 4006 and the first thing i did when i took it out of the box was install nv_36 on it. the install went smoothly with the exception of it not detecting the graphics card (it chose Generic ATI-Vesa or something) and i had to chose 1024x768 at 16million colors as the res.
it boots fine until dtlogin starts and then it locks up. i try and login as root before dtlogin gets started, but as soon as X fires up it locks up. i saw the post about renaming /usr/X11/lib/modules/libvbe.so and it didn't seem to help. i did this by booting to the interactive install on the CD and mounting my installed partiton and renaming the file. any ideas as to what to try next?
