Well I guess that was the complete problem was the resolv.conf file

It should look like:

nameserver (actual name server) in my case I used a comcast one that I found
online 4.2.2.1
so

nameserver 4.2.2.1
nameserver 4.2.2.2

Now I feel a smidgeon smarter because I finally, finally, finally got my
wireless card working in solaris 10, after a couple weeks. If anyone else is
having a problem with a dlink dwl g520 wifi card maybe I can help while it's
still all fresh in my brain.

Thank you to James Cornell for putting up with this extreme n00bness. When
you come from a windows environment to an ubuntu environment to a solaris 10
environment it's a HUGE jump!!! Thanks all.
