I'm also looking for a new notebook. After a lot of research I've come
to two models I'm interested in.

1) http://www.polywell.com/us/notebook/PolyNoteM719NB.asp

or

2)
http://www.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/precn_m6300?c=us&l=en&s=bsd&cs=04

I've come to the same conclusion as above, use Core 2 Duo, it's faster,
64 bit and will support power savings. Both those computers use Nvidia
graphics, where the Polywell uses the Quadro FX2500M and the Dell uses a
slower 3D card. Both computers support 4 Gig of RAM, have 17" wide
displays, at 1900 x 1600, so you'll have enough real estate.

I haven't research full compatibility yet, but I'm willing to wait for
all features and/or change some components. The 965 chipset should be
supported, so basic functionality is good.
