Some dual core AMD laptops start at the lowest cpu freq and depend on the OS software to increase the speed. The powernowd will not be able to increase your laptop to full speed. I know I have one of those dual core AMD laptops which is stuck at 1Ghz when it has a 2.6Ghz 4800+ X2 AMD64 in it. I don't think Sun has any intention of fixing certain dual core cpu power manangement. Maybe on the 65nm chips. A better option would be the Core Duo Santa Rosa chipset, Intel. Maybe a good stiff warning during boot indicating a clock rate problem is not going to be fixed is in order for the older models. ---Bob This message posted from opensolaris.org
