I agree, we even have LRP 2.9.8 in our files area(1). The official support 
for 2.9.8 is still at the linuxrouter site. Although, none of the mailing 
lists are publicly-advertised(2) anymore. So, I don't know how anyone new 
can easily ask questions there.

I suspect your comments are correct. This is one of the reasons that I 
placed the 2.9.8 files on our site.
