Did see and follow that to start with. Which module to use for which
hardware is an issue. Which is why I tried all combinations. Will keep
trying though.

I would only guess that you might try 2.4.20 as the
mini-HOWTO does.  If nothing else, it's along the
lines of fixing segfaults; though I realize you said
you got all the modules from the same tree.
