The Intel/DEC Tulip chip rocks.  I have used this for ages, and have
never come across a problem with it.  I'm looking into the DFE-570TX for
a project I will need to play with here, soonish.

Actually, the Tulip chipset was always an Intel-designed chipset, just
manufactured by DEC.  Now, Intel manufactures them.
