Hi Erich.

It's sorted now, thanks. As Art pointed out, I'd forgotten that the 
initrd.lrp should be the renamed initrd_ide.lrp one. I had the correct 
one on the floppy that detected the cf, but not on the cf setup. I'm not 
sure how to protect myself against this 'gotcha' in the future - if it 
was an ext2 system I'd set the chattr bit to +i to make it immutable and 
unable to be copied over.
