I was suspicious that it was smaller, and there were so many new modules.
Certainly I can't explain two screens of missing references. I can get
more data later this evening.

The CVS seems outdated. Lots of stuff for 2.4.24. Perhaps it's the
organization, but I didn't find things easily.

If you plan on sending it as an attachment, this isn't a good address.
This is an old DOS/W31 box I like using for email because its client is
just text-based and isn't easily suborned by viruses & worms. There's a
better address at my ISP indicated in my signature block. ;-)

[sound of head banging on desk] Ummm, maybe we could have BLINKING,
blinking, BLINKING, blinking, letters?

>Nope, EISA support is built in the kernel: "CONFIG_EISA=y"

You _did_ say, "But EISA and VL are obsoleted for at least 10 years....."
 ;-)

It does boot, and it recognizes the EISA NIC. In the confusion it's easy
to miss clues. But ya' know, in my entire career, error messages have
NEVER been as helpful as they need to be and they've never gotten any
better.
