Yeah I don't get the negativity either - we have 3 of our 4 strikers out
injured for various lengths of time - if we buy someone then we will have to
sell someone once they are all fit so we have brought in a reasonably young
experienced striker to fill the gap. If he does well we can sign him for
longer, if he becomes surplus to requirements we can get rid - good business
for me.Re Forsell - it is only a trial , if he proves he still has it we can
sign a player who should be great at this level - if he is no longer up to it -
we get rid - simple and good management again
I think fans general disillusionment with Bates and the club in general is
clouding peoples judgement.Yes it is annoying to see players we are supposedly
after, going elsewhere, yes it is annoying that we have not really brought
anyone in BUT for me Longeran is at least as good as Smicheal, Clayton is
streets ahead of Kilkenny, a fit Michael Brown is more useful than Bradley
Johnson, so there is not too much really wrong (especailly if we get in one
more midfield player and please please please a real proper left back)

Why the f'ck are people moaning  about signing a premier league striker and
having an ex premier league striker training  with us to check him out.

There is honestly no pleasing you lot

It's not about fairness. I'd say Grella has a better goalscoring record
than Paynter in competitive games for us, but Grayson would apparently play
a 20-year-old debutant defender as center-forward when we need a goal than
he would give Grella a chance. That's not fair either, as far as I'm
concerned. To me it's all about scoring goals in the league, and Paynter
just hasn't done that. And he's gotten himself injured at the start of two
seasons in a row. I'd have sold him (and Grella, since Grayson clearly
doesn't rate him) this summer, to be honest with you. Maybe Paynter was good
for Swindon, but he isn't good enough for us.

(And of course, I'd love nothing more than to be proven wrong by Paynter
coming back from injury, establishing himself as the first choice
center-forward and scoring 30 goals as he powers us to automatic promotion.
I just don't think that's going to happen.)

Cheers!

Sean

He scored on his debut away in Slovakia iirc. He then got injured and missed
an entire preseason. When he was fit his appearances were limited to 30
second cameos at the end of games.

He scored at Preston (great finish) and also at home to Newcastle preseason.

He mullered us a couple of years ago for Swindon at ER.

Do you honestly believe he's been given a fair crack?

Paynter's "scored a few times"? Really? For us? In competitive games? How
many?

Had to openly laugh at this. Wolves are desperate to sell him. He's
obviously shit.

Paynter for me. Don't get why everyone is so -ve about him. He's had limited
opportunity and had scored a few times. Give him a run.
