I know some people have bought players and west ham are an oddity having
premier league players but most teams are picking up freebies it’s the way
of the market now. Bolton under fat sam were experts at it,

There was definitely an element of being outbid and blaming greedy players
and agents in the summer which was a disgrace given crowds resources etc…
but look at blackpool. Wage ceiling of £10k got into and did well in the
first few months of the premier league.

I guess you can argue it both ways, as the biggest team outside the prem
with the consistently biggest crowds until this year we should be outbidding
any sensible team but also you have to fear from preston now as ridsdale has
taken over.

The key for me is that a top notch manager should be able to take a decent
bunch of frees and loanees and get them up.

They haven't (off the top of my head) had any significant sales, other than
dropping from the Prem league ones (Parker) or selling Oxlaide Chamberlain
(sp).

We have and have not re-invested even a fraction of that money.

We have got in a host of freebies and loanees which smacks (to me) of make
do and mending, when I don't think we really need to be.

outrageous spending has been by Leicester and west Ham on some players
wages. Neither are that much better or worse off than us.

and while we could do with a few extra quid on players there is no evidence
to suggest that we would be any better off.

It is because the chairman spend 7 million on the ground and not the team.
If team spirit is low it's not because Grayson can't keep it in his pants,
it's cos the player are being offered a packet of sweets as pay rises for
good performances - eg White. Let's not get distracted - it Bates' fault.
