Thanks all,

I am not capable enough to open it up and mess. The apple store is a no no
because I had a non apple fix.

The place I had it done at have such poor customer service I won't use them
again but there is another place nearby. No idea of quality

I'm guessing that you really need someone who knows what they are doing and is
an ipad specialist.

Also is there any way a "genius" would know if the ipad had been opened and
fixed without taking it apart? I have heard that they simply replace them a lot
of the time.

Matt

Unfortunately, it can't be that easy on an iPad as there is no mid-frame into
which you screw the screen assembly (which can be over tightened as you
describe).

Whilst the LCD screen itself is screwed to the rear shell, the digitiser and
front glass are 'simply' glued to the front of the machine.
