My reflections fall somewhere between the two of you. I know what Rich means
about Barnsley looking like a team, he’s right, but then again, how much damage
did they cause? And that’s because of our defence (all 5 of them) who all had
good games yesterday…I know we were under the cosh for the last 20 minutes, but
I actually felt reasonably confident we could hold out...whereas if Wood had
been half awake in the opening 20 minutes of the second half, we could have had
three more than we finished with.

And I’m with Dave on the generation of a sense of hope/optimism…yep, I’m
looking forward to the next game.

I’m reasonably happy with O’Kane’s contribution…stumped by the praise being
heaped on Phillips…count the bad passes and stupid fouls...but yes, he is young
and may well develop…I bet the “sprints” in training between him and Mowatt are
a laugh…jesus. I think Bridcut is fit again and the others maintain their
current form, then we will have a good midfield and a solid back 5 (still not
sure about Green, but hey…)…that’s a pretty good basis for a team.

When we get Hernandez and Sacko the ball, things happen. Sacko needs to calm
down and think about what he is doing…too much flash and not enough end product
but if that can be channelled a little better he will be a threat. Which really
is more than you can say for Dallas, who a 5 minute purple patch in the second
half aside, did little going forward, although he did put a shift in covering
Taylor.
