agreed, its fine for the professional game but the amateur game for me has
always been about a few decent local lads with the occasional fallen pro
playing for beer money from the same set up from a near by village and town
with a very occasional decent FA cup/VAse Trophy run. Which league they are
in is less important and occasionlly you willget the odd team that gets a
bit of cash and progresses Hornchurch, Canvey, crawley Weymouth etc... then
often fades away as the wideboy cockney backer pulls out but Wimbledon have
sustainable funds far in excess of that.

If thats being ost then its pretty sad. I am fond of non league football,
I knew up pretty much next to farsley Celtic's ground and as a kid used to
climb through the hole in the fence and watch the games and occasionally
chat to the linesman.

I'm looking forward to next season as it will be the first time they have
been in a national league so I will make a point of going to Ebbsfleet,
Woking (managed by Frank Gray) Aldershot etc... and some of the more local
games to me.

Another point before I go misty eyed!

My son is going to be 10 - I was going to start taking him to more games
this season to make sure he doesnt lose his leeds sympathies - Should I take
him to Millwall? its the closest game to our house but of course probably
th most risky
